California Hydrogen Business Council

California Hydrogen Business Council

The California Hydrogen Business Council is a nonprofit organization comprising organizations and individuals involved in the hydrogen business and dedicated to promoting hydrogen use in California.

The Problem

The Council needed a Web site that produced revenue from online meeting registration and membership payment, support banner advertising for key supporters, promote a professional image for the Council and function as a resource for membership.

The Solution

Graphtek proposed a site (www.californiahydrogen.org) that provided the requested services, but would be within the Council’s limited financial resources.

The would to serve the Council’s 30 organization and 250 individual members, act as a “brochure” for the Council encouraging hydrogen-technology use, promote events and sell tickets to those events.

The Graphtek|CMS package added functionality to the Web site its modules.

It provides for automatic e-mailings to members announcing meetings and other industry-related activities.

In addition, a “Newsroom” module allows access to current and archived newsletters, media releases and book reviews. This is just one value feature to members.

Another listed upcoming meetings, complete with agendas and a tool for online registration. Additionally, agendas from previous meetings are archived and may be accessed by users.

One module was dedicated to membership matters. This defined the various types of membership for both organizations and individuals with descriptions of benefits. It also provided online registration for individuals and forms for organizations.

The Graphtek|CMS solution proved cost effective for the California Hydrogen Business Council. Because membership, event and meeting registration fees are the Council’s main revenue source, the online payment features greatly eased the collection process. In addition, CMS allows for in-house Web site maintenance so the Council did not have to use costly outside technical help in keeping the site updated and current.
