Rotax Kart Challenge
Rotax Kart Challenge
A Case Study of Rotax Kart Challenge (www.rmaxchallenge.com), whose responsibility was organizing and staging the international race kart market.
The Problem
Kart racing is international in scope with more than 19,000 motors running throughout 55
different countries, 5,000 of which compete in the "Max Challenge."
The Rotax Kart Challenge maintained a Web site for updating standards and
carrying information about the next race.
The main difficulty was that all
scores had to be tabulated and then added to the site using HTML. The process
was complicated, time consuming and prone to error.
The
Solution
Graphtek analyzed the existing Web
site and proposed a redesign reflecting style and brand combined with ease of
use for both the site administrator and site user.
The new site incorporated a number of specialized features. One feature allowed for online member sign-up. This included field validations, drop-down selections, auto-generated license number, e-mail delivery of customized digital membership packet and fee collection.
It also provided for automated renewal notification. Another feature was to display driver standings nationally and by series.
Race results were displayed by series and date as well as by individual drivers. Members were also provided with self-managed profiles that included a biography and photo.
Race administrators now had the ability to input race results, including license verification and name match.
All these specialized custom functions were integrated into the Graphtek|CMS Pro Suite. The Suite also included modules for the client to manage site content, newsroom, event calendar, photo album, product catalog and special promotions.
Graphtek created a site in CMS that addressed a database of races, so that they could be easily updated and linked to the event calendar. Part of the package included an easy-to-use search engine for site viewers to find local dealers.
Easy site maintenance was one of the most important benefits Graphtek|CMS provided the client. Originally, a staffer with specialized knowledge of HTML was required to tabulate race scores and update the site. This process required as much as three days.
With Graphtek|CMS, the process took a secretary only two hours.
